Help with Vray and glow

I'm working with 3ds max and Vray.
I have modeled a light bulb...
and I want glow on filament...
I've added the glow effect and it works fine..
but when the filament is behind the glass the glow disappears...
you can see it in the attached images...
10x :-)

Why dont u apply Vraylight material to the filament and give it a yellowish color, that way it will emit light too :)

I've tried it and it doesn't make the filament glow...
Maybe I just don't use it correct...
Can you tell me how to make the Vraylight material glow?
or any other way to get the result I wanted...
:)

hmm, lemme see, try this:-
If ur using 3dsmax 8, you can also apply Blur effect to the filament to make it look as if its glowing, only you will have to scale the object a bit bigger bcoz max will Blur out its edges. Blur is found in Environment and effects pallete in max8 ONLY.

If not using max8, Video Post will have to be done here coz Vraylight mtl emitts light but doesnt glow, sorry if I didnt told you this before.

Do this - Apply Vraylight mtl to your object and set its Object ID or channel to 1 or something other and remember it, go to Video Post and Apply Glow to the object using the ID you gave it (Hope you already know how to work in Video Post) and there, you will have your glow, Increase the intensity and have a smaller size of the glow! Hope this helps :)

I've tried both ways and it just doesn't work when the filament is behind the glass...
Not the Blur and not the Glow with the Video Post...
All of them work only when the filament is alone in the scene and there is nothing in front of it...
Does anyone know how to fix it?

I've put 1 in the "Object ID" under the "G-Buffer" in the "Object Properties" window...
And set the glow to the same Object ID as the filament...
You can see in the pictures that it's work when the filament is alone in the scene..
But doesn’t work when the glass is in front of it...

Talking don't burn your head

hide all the geometry and render the filament only, save as *.tga and mix all in phtoshop. Then you can calibrate easily the glow, more even, yoy don need render any glows, you can create it in photoshop indeed.

Does anyone have an idea for what to do in animated scene?
And what can be wrong in the glass?

glass? the glow is an effect , and beyond the glass the object u have is refracted through
the glass, so maybe u need to setup the glass to refract the effects too.
like i said, i dont manage 3dmax but is an ideea.
and if u have pacience maybe i will investigate for u ( and me)
