Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi, I was so fascinated by the moddeling of this picture, that I tried to do the same without the house (will take too long for me :p ) i tried some tutorials (which explains how to use "hair and fur") and it worked on a small plane. But the moment I made a bigger landscape, the rendering time went to more than 30 minutes (sometimes an hour). Is there maybe another way to create the grass? Or are there properties I have to change? thanks in advance, Peter |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | hi. Yes there is another way, U could use particle system to make grass, its easy. 1st create grass shape geometry, and distribute it on plane with Pflow or Parray. |

I did the image below by using the same technique as described above. | |

it was a joke :P really....who gott the time to model one and each of all the grass straws hehe. but as you said, a good tecniqe is to model 3 or 4 straws then array them over the field :) http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorial.../grass_tut.asp this is a good tut

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Thanks minimus 4 the tutorial, but i've seen this tutorial long ago. I am just saying that by using the particle system like Pflow to create grass, it is easy to setup the collision or alike effect, like the Football rolling over the grass and pressing it down. And of course different scene requirements could use different techniques, like the one in the tut. |
