animating the veins

Hi..
i'm making a dental animation, wherein i have to make a detailed model of a tooth. I have to model veins for the entire lower jaw and i would like to animate them as follows.
The veins branch out progressively much similar to the branching of a tree. however it should not be random.
I have already drawn the veins, all i need to do is make them visible as if they're forming.
Can any1 give me an idea on how i can do this?
Thanks.

try using path deform on the drawn veins that you have created..or animate boolean it..you can just animate the vertex..well,it depends on the situation.can you show some screenshot to get a clear view?
