3DSMax on VISTA

Hi @all
I wanted to run 3DSMax 9 on Vista, but wasnt able to run it!
First got some error messages, but solved that by giving the application Admin rights (run as admin)
It starts, and i see the splash screen, but then the App freezes
I would even be happy with a Software mode (Ok not really but OpenGL should work better, as latest ATi drivers got some better OpenGL support )

Can any1 help me plz

3ds max 9 doesn't work on vista, 'cause vista use only directX 10, but 3ds max 9 doesn't support it; well, also open GL can't work perfectly(my friend has an ati and he tried 3ds max 9 on vista with open GL, it doesn't work very well)
i've tried vista t00, but it just sucks, so i had to reinstall XP T_T

The problem is that it wont even start; I am able to select vide driver but it crashes on any selction!

not really answering your question, but why bye a programme that cost over 3 thousand pounds, and you don't even no if it works on your operating system.
Also whys everyone buying vista if on of the programmes work on it.

Bought new PC -> Vista is already installed!
Gotta look if i HAVE to install XP on that new machine, also gotta check if all drivers are there for XP!

If possible i would like to run it on Visa
Other Software (games with DX9) run perfect on vista...and searched the web about DX9 on vista: Vista comes with DX9L or DX9Exp or whatever its officially called. There Should be support for DX9 in vista...

I have already install 3Dmax 9 on Vista.
Pls follow this step :
1- Install 3Dmax9
2- Install service pack 2 (Download from 3dmax website)
3- Use it and mail to me to make friend,,,,,,,,,,,,hheheheheh
It's nice to learn 3Dmax from you all/
