Rep Power: 5 ![]() | 3dsmax stability Does 3ds (i use 2009) crash out of nowhere for anyone else? i can be working on something and out of nowhere 3ds has a error and crashes. fortunately the auto backup seems to catch every time. i currently have all the updates autodesk supplies and run windows xp 64bit fully updated. i have dx9 and opengl. my system specs are up to the requirement and i just got 2gbs more of memory to see if that helps. well it didn't. basically i just want to see if it is unstable for the 3ds users here too. |

| Supreme Digital Artist | Yeah. Max is still crashing (well, at least for me). It has crashed since 6th version (if I can recall). Now... You need good configuration for max not to crash (that is what I've heard), and still you cant expect all from him. There is certain limit in his abilities that he can perform. So when he starts to have to many polys, you need to upgrade your machine. Regards... |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | so far i guess the crashes have become less frequent, but are still there. it would be nice to have a nice 4x4 Opteron setup with 16+ gigs of memory and dual Quatros. lol. i wish. maybe some day i'll have a beast. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | i heard something like that to. like if you flash the firmware on certain models of ati and nvidia video cards they can operate like a workstation card. some i heard were as easy as changing the drivers to a modified one. |
