Rep Power: 0 ![]() | 3ds max wireframe render ? Hi, I know how to render a wireframe image from 3ds max but what i want is a plugin or technique through which i can apply/project/overlay a clean wireframe over my 3d models the problem is my wireframes are really messy and all i want to show is the topology.. Thanks

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | There are many techniques you can use to show off the topology of your mesh depending on the renderer or whether or not turbosmooth or meshsmooth is applied 1st Simple technique default scan-line renderer Push and clone By cloning the object it enables you to then push it which scales the cloned object to small amounts with the cloned object it is possible to apply a wire material then render. make sure when you clone you do a copy not instance !! Also one problem with this is it doubles your geometry which sucks especially if you do high poly stuff! also it takes 2 material slots. ![]() 2nd Technique there's one problem with this one it displays as a wire frame in the viewport but it works just as well. be sure to use a high sampling quality otherwise it will not display some of the wire Composite material mental ray render!! I recommend my second technique if you want to do high poly :/ ![]() Hope this helps you |
