I am new to the forum, so hello to everybody. I downloaded a trial version of Max 9, when I go to boot it up it comes up with an error, saying "DLL <C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\stdplugs\DxPlugins\DxDDS.bmi> failed to initialize Error code: 998 - Invalid access to memory location."

If anybody can help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Hi,

U have a little more info about ure OS and computer specifications.
Also what number direct x do u use ?

I have a Toshiba Satellite running Windows Vista 32 - bit operating system. 2038 mb of ram, Intel 1.73 GHz Processor. I believe I am running Direct x 9. I am not sure about that, I know at least 9.

I never figured out what was causing the error. however, I did a google search for Max 9 updates nd found service pack 2 for it. I downloaded that, installed it, and it took care of all my problems. Thankyou for everybody who helped or suggested.

Hi

I am new here. I have a problem with the 3d max 9 and 3d max 2008 as well. I have reinstall both and also I have format my computer. and the installed the software. The problem is that when I start/open max/file it loads and I get starting 3d max message and it hangs and after few seconds I get the send error report box. Please help

The file maybe corrupt, or too big so whenever the memory overrun the max crashes.
