Question 3D Max question (help)

How can this be done in Max? For example, I would like to apply text to a convex or concave surface. And can you apply a small bitmap to a large surface? like what I'm trying to do here.

The text here is actually in front of the red wheel and I would like to apply it to the wheel either as a bitmap or ???????? Some one explain this to me and I'll make a tut on how to do this.... Thanks RR

I dont understand the question, but maybe UVWmap or UnwrapUVW modifiers can help you.

hmmm...

I dont get the question either! but you can make a bitmap of text, apply it on an object with UVW map modifier and do some adjustments with the Alpha settings of the material! make it in photoshop! and one more way -
you make text in max in create panel, place it on object and then unify it with boolean operation! may this will help........ :)

Make a text, use alpha for transparent level, make a multi material (it's standart material type in 3D Max, dont remember name) whitch makes ID for each sub-map, then edit poly, select front area of a place where text must be (here - front of a wheel), assign ID 1, and in multi material assign ID1 for text map. Use UVW Map with ID1 for this map.
Here you have a text, then use another maps with another ID's fo other texturing.
