3D Max crashes when trying to render hair.

I'm currently working on a female character which needs hair. However, when trying to render out her hair Max crashes, I get the error messegge. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I have an Intel 775 2.8GHZ with 2GBs of RAM and a BFG 6800AGP 256. Please advice.

Thanks,
Josal

maybe there's too much hair
Did u do the rendering with Vray???
If yes, u must set the memory of rendering to 1024MB or more(F10\system\memory)
Good luck. :)

I was using Mental Ray. I'll try reducing the hair count. Thanks

The hair modifier needs to use a hell of a lot of memory so i would recommend (if you don't have it already) to upgrade to at least 2 gig of DDR 2 memory.
