Nobody Home

Hi 3dm3,

I think this is my first post ever in these forums. So, greetings to all!

This image is called "Nobody Home" as it deals with the theme of desertion/abandon. An abandoned house with nothing but the memories of a family who stayed here. There's no child to play on the swings. No kid to zip around in his bike. The rake's unused for sometime now. The grass has grown and the ivy is making its way into the house. Is there really nobody home?

We initially planned this as part of a montage where we wanted to show a series of abandoned places. Where humans aren't present anymore but by their sheer absence, they have left behind such memories that they make their presence felt. Locations which are a character unto themselves and tell a melancholic story.

Software Used: Maya, Photoshop, Mental Ray, Digital Fusion

All Texturing by Mukti Krishan
Modeling, Lighting and Compositing by Sachin Shrestha.

Looking forward to feedback from all of you and hope you enjoy our work!

Cheers!
-Sachin Shrestha & Mukti Krishan

p.s. thank you 3dm3 for the front page plug for our demoreel the other day! much appreciated!

lol, are that real trees, grass and stuff? It's seems quite real to me :p
Very nice done. it would have taken ages to render that shoot. (especially when my first clay render which was just a fan took me 40 minutes)

Very cool pic man. I like the shot depth due to the DOF a lot, like peeking through th fence.
