If you are talking about the Wire check box in the materail editor then it means exactly what it says, if it is checked then the object will render the wire frame, if it is not checked then the object will render like a solid, most of the time it is left unchecked

but i didnt mean that, maby i understand wrong.
i see this sentence in some sites(not wired textures). for example in got3d.com, and 'wired textures' in mayang.com.
but not important in that way, never mind.
and if you didnt know about 'www.mayang.com' i prefer you to see that it has very good textures whit good resulotion.
