Hi julian124, u know it's very difficult to create a game like "Halo 2"and"Counter-Strike".
U have to create a graohic interface and the phisic, with some software such as"C++"
U can also find some soltware such as "fps creator" to create a fps game like Halo.
Good luck. :)

Darkbasic,3D Gamestudio & Blitz3D is good (middleware)..
still there are a few that are free - example Irrlicht, IrrWizard & Blender.
my advise to try on the freeware first then start your way with game engine and so on. Trust me..i takes a lot of research & development to create a realistic 3d game..owh and a LOT of funding$$ because creating a game is not cheap.
each software have their own strength & limitation..depends on how you want it to be?

when you have created your game - some might take time to load...bug on animation..collision..texture..normals..so, cant judge which is better..~ its on the developer
*hope this helps
