I'd like models of about 400 polygons each with material and all... the details should be contained within the texture... I prefer 3D Max...

Damn, I need to get my practice going if I'm gonna get a job in 3d graphics. So many opportunities on this site I have to pass up.

That's the prob bob, heh, I'm not that good yet, but if I do get better I will. I had 3ds max for a while, but all I ever did was text stuff, and now finally in the last 2 1/2 months I've gotten into all the other stuff, but I do appreciate the offer.

I'm just learning to do more modeling and I'm improving rapidly. If you want to see three pics of my work. Click my homepage button "www" and there is a button on my website that says 3d pictures, click on that and you can see 3 pics. The first one is from a tutorial of off this site :) . The middle one looks a lot better at a bigger size because you can barely see the stars in that size, but I got limits on my website because it's hosted for free.

Ok, when I first read this post I just happened to be in the middle of the low-poly modeling tutorial in 3d studio max, heh. So I decided to finish and show you it. It has 408 faces, close enough I guess to 400. I tried to msmooth where I could to make it look as good as it can with that poly count. It looked really good with the higher poly count, but oh well. Btw, I'm not good at texturing so I didn't texture it yet. This is my first low-poly modeling so be gentle, heh. And I don't know if you could use this or not because it's a tutorial from 3ds max.

The model isn't bad but there are 2 problems:

1) I cannot use it because it's not in the "game spirit"... the game is gonna be "future-like" and the ships won't fly, but just float at about 50 cm from the earth... have u played battlezone... it has pretty much the ideea of the ships I want...

2) I got someone who can do the modelling (he's not great, but he's all I got) but I got nobody to make me some cool-looking textures. To apply the textures to the ship and play with the texture-coordinates it's not a problem, I know how to do this but I can't do the actual bitmap...

Hmm, I see what you're saying. Sry I'm not to good with texturing. I've never played battlezone. I play mainly first person shooters. I play medal of honor spearhead all the time. Good luck and thanks for looking and commenting on my model.

Pavel, this tutorial is built into max. Go to help->tutorials and it's listed as low-polymodeling a spaceship.
