Does the free Vray max 4 work with max 5? Otherwise I'll have to use the demo I guess.

I don't know why, but when I render this one scene of mine it takes out the background and I don't know if I have everything because I checked the manual for it and I don't have a couple files. But I don't know why I wouldn't have them? Help is needed if you know why I have this problem. It might just be that I don't have all the files, but I downloaded and installed to the right directory. Hmm.

Jomama, dioes it happen with one file only or is it happening with all of your files??? I f it is only one file... VERY STRANGE --- I suggest that you try merging you "bizarre" file with a new file and see what happens... If ti happens with all of your models, try dowloading it again, because sometimes the file s may come corrupted due to trasfer errors that are too subtle for the download to be interruprted butn that, in some cases, corrupt the files so that you can't use them...
Good Luck and tell me if I was right.. please---!!!JAJAJA

Hmm, ok I rendered a couple other scenes and it didn't take out my enviroment so maybe it's just that one scene. I redownloaded vray and tried the same scene and it still did it. But also, shouldn't the images rendered with vray look better than the default renderer? Or is because I didn't tweak any of the settings.

hi ...

i am working on 3dsmax for a long time and i found that 3dsmax 5 rendering engine is very powerful. well, if someone want to invest in a external rendering program then it's well and good but what i meant to say is, 3dsmax 5 scanlins 1 renderer is quite efficient and great improvement from 3dsmax 4. i do all my rendring in default rederer. recently i am working on a project on a modeling and rendering of a wall and i posted it in wip section named 'Architecture: a decorated wall in daylit' and you will see good effect can be achieved with max. but, yes, it takes a pretty long time.

so, in that case vray is good although i have not used it but, seen some great stuff.

Yeah, that wall you made is really good :coolp: When I use vray it kind of leaves a blurry edge around some objects, I guess there is a setting to change that? Hmm, but for now I guess I'll just use the default.
