Lightbulb What motivates you?

Hey there, I actually joined 3dmmc (i think that was what it was called) a couple years ago but haven't been back on since ^^ But I remember the people here are really nice so I'll be sticking around :D

What is most frustrating about modeling, is just having the patience to complete anything. There's so much to things like: low-poly modeling...baking textures, bump mapping, normal mapping, a PLETHORA of steps.

When I model something for fun, I would usually go through with it around 70% of the time, yet when it comes to classes and I have to do modeling homework, I'm just too lazy to do it, even though I know it'll do alot of good for me in the long run.

I say, what motivates you to finish a project, 2d, 3d, any art project? Sometimes I feel as if modeling and drawing is getting me nowhere, and I barely have motivation to top it off. Do you guys have a certain artist you look up to or a certain ethic/guide to help you along?
