Question Software suitable for complex machine/ocean scenes?

What type of model/render/animation software is best suited to the following:
- importing complex 3D machines from CAD program
- setting them in an environment (onboard ship)
- rendering realistic water, waves, splashes etc as various loads and equipment are lowered into the sea
- underwater scenes on the seabed with bubbles, floating debris and clouds of mud as large objects interact with seabed.
- animating ship movement in rough seas.

What type of plugins (if necessary) would be best suited for such software in order to create the most realistic scenes as described above. I'd love to get in touch with someone who's done something like this and get some tips. Thanks for any feedback!

I would suggest 3D max, because that is what I use. You can use Maya also, but I don't know that program so I can't tell how to work with animation with either of programs because I am beginner in animation...

Cheers
