The short bio problem

There is a problem in portfolio. I was writing the other day my 'short' bio, and when I saved it, it was no longer than ~180 chars. What kind of bio is that? Idk, but I think that most of us would rather have a longer CV (Latin: Curriculum Vitae) or biography, right? I was the other day with some friends of mine, and I gave them this address to visit my portfolio, and later that day I went home to actually write something so people will see who I am and what I do. Luckily I had it all written in notepad. Now I know this thread is similar than this one but it is kinda stupid to let people write their 'life story' in 180 chars of space. I am going to make a poll now to see how many of you would like this changed.

Fell free to add C&C. To generalize my idea I would like to ask you if we should make longer bios or not?

i found this a problem when i filled mine out as well. it would be nice to have a longer one. if your gonna limit it, should do it at like 300 or 400. i would suggest atleast doubling the current setting. this is just my opinion.

Well in my opinion it should be long enough to fit at least one A4 page in it. Now that would be fair.

there may be the argument that we are provided a Blog to right in and could actually do a full story on your life there if you'd like. i still agree that the short bio should be increased. when i wrote mine i tried to keep it short but still ran out of character spaces.

hey the thing is, on thse job websites n such, "short bio" means jus a small 1 line description to yerself. evn i hv dat on 1-2 websites sayin sumthin like "Fresher in 3Ds Max Animation, World Modelling, Lighting, Freelancer"

the websites den ask ye to also upload yer proper CV sumwhr below

Honestly that sucks shashanks, but not your text but the fact that you cant write longer. Why don't they make it at least a bit longer?!? It would be nice because many people don't know what blog even means, and they just won't go any further just because they are afraid, idk to get viruses or smtn. I exposed my opinion, and I would like comment from someone in charge. I mean no disrespect, I only want to know their opinion on the subject. Thanks.

1 temporary (or maybe permanent) way of solving this problem is to write all your information in your blog. Then, put the link to your blog at the 'short bio' section (3dm3 linking to 3dm3 shouldn't 'scare' away anyone). For me, I don't really care about the 'length' of it because I don't think that anyone is interested about my 'personal information' when they aren't going to hire me.
