Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks mate :D! Well, I have a problem with the bowling pin tutorial (sorry, i can not post any links yet) I don't understand how to import the texture. I saved it on my PC in the directory where I also saved the .max project. And while I'm askin this...I also would like to know what's the best way to save Projects and files I need for projects (everything in one directory...also the textures? And how can I name them the best way?) |

| Supreme Digital Artist | If you are new to max, you will have to learn how to load the textures in to material editor and later on you just put them on a model. You can also just drag 'n' drop some textures (example: a ball texture just drag ball.jpg file on a sphere and you have it :P). Theses are already modified objects (like sphere) and its UV is set to sphere type, so if you need a more complex object you will need to edit UV's for one or more of its polygons/faces. Now... About the project directory I really cant help you much there, but I can tell you that recently I have started to make the project folder and then I would put every texture that I need in to it (I also put a bunch of other stuffs there :P). P.S. If you are making a bigger project, make sure that you make it from a number of objects. Why am I telling you this? Because if you make it from multiple objects, each object is easier to 'skin' (add texture/material). And I don't know what do you use for making textures but I will tell you to use Photoshop, just because its the best program for doing this things ;P And as much as for the naming, you will have to find your best way to that :)))) I hope I didn't confused you with all this information. Cheers ;) |
