painting 3d models or "sticking" texture to polygons

Hello guys

I have a rather confusing question to ask.
Some software that I know, of which one is Metaseq, allows you to paint the polygons and so that no external textures or anything is created, but it's stored inside the model, somehow.
That Metaseq software isn't anything like those big ones (maya, max, c4d, lw etc.), it's a small modeling program without many features and it's hard to paint the models in it.

Now I'm thinking, is it possible to somehow "stick" or inject texture to the model so there wouldn't be any external files created (textures or anything), just that model?
I'm not talking about hd textures which might seem complicated, but simple "painted" texture.

I've seen a lot of programs that you can use to paint the models, but they don't paint it like Metaseq, they create UV texture instead and the colors aren't stored in model.

So anyone know any existing software like that Metaseq which would allow me to paint the model triangles and would store the colors inside the model instead of creating a UV texture?
Or is there some way to "stick" or "inject" texture to models so there wouldn't be any external files like textures left but the colors stored in model instead?

Thanks, if it's too confusing and you don't get something, please say so and feel free to ask ;)
