hehe both of them are autodesk so i think maya 8 vil have some of the futures from max and max 9 will have some of the futures from maya. so i think they both are good.
but i use max 8 and i think max is great and everything in max gives me more inspiratsjon then the boring looking maya.

but's thats my opinion. =D

i find 3ds max easyer to learn then maya.

1: it's easyer to find the tools and mess around yourself to learn them inn max

2: the hotkey's are more compatible.

and allso i find more 3ds max tutorials then maya tutorials.
but that may becaus i serch more for 3ds max =D hehe.

but every one learn inn diferent ways and people are difrent and the program is diferent. and 3ds max is my program and for other people is maya the right program.

I don't know about max but Maya's dynamics, cloth, hair, liquids, particles, ease of navigation, animation, modelling tools etc. are just superb, besides being an incredible stable system.

Maya rules dude!!!!

Well, good luck with 3dmax, you know in the end all that really matters is the artist and not the tools or weapons of choice...."
(Either way maya is waaaaaaaaaaay better..." hehe)

i agree with the tools thinks, dosent matter, i read much in the last year tutoriales and books of Maya but onestly i found it to much complex and complicate, and his inconpatibilitys are a big q? for toose who use varios programs.
Now i learn 3dmax from a 3 days and i think this is more accesib..for the moment, soon i will post my firsth in Max, daily i use Rhino and im happy with.
