Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I need Software Help Hi, my name is Eddy. Im 14 and was origanlly born in Austalia but now live in the UK. Ive been teaching myself 3d with 3Ds max and got a student version for one year. Its goind to run out soon and im wondering if its the right software. Im not really sure what i want to do with the software but i orignally got it for modding games. Zbrush looks good and i was wondering if that would be a better option or even something else like maya? Im clueless. Thanks. |

| Member | If you are not sure, maybe you can try to get yourself the trial version for all of them? Depends on who the person is, we always have our own desired 3D software. I will always use 3DS Max because its 'easier' and have more plug-ins like Vray renderer. Thanks :) |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | I think there was a vote on what was the best 3d model a while ago, I personally use 3ds Max for its ease of use for poly modelling my game characters. But you are right it is expensive but well worth it. BTW 3ds Max is cheaper than Maya by around 2000 US$ ( so about 2500 Aussie dollars)

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Personally i never got the hang of Blender, maya or any of the other ones ( i must have tried them all) but over the years i have come to the understanding that 3DS MAX is the most versatile, useful, powerful and all round AWESOME CG program ever devised. It may set you back a few dollars ($1000 to $2500 depending on where you live) but it is worth it and i am SOOOO thankful that i go it!
