how do you make trees in 3ds max?

how do you make them without plug ins perferably. more specificly the leaves.
like do you just make a leaf and copy it because it seems that there is a better/faster way to do that.

or if anyone knows a good plugin that would be ok to

or some tutorials to do it.

I am not very clear about what you want, but maybe these are what you are looking for?

TREE STORM - plugin for 3ds Max2008, Max9, Max8, Max7, Max6, corresponding Autodesk VIZ
Itoo Software - Forest, plugins to create trees in 3D Studio Max and Viz

If you are going to model / edit the tree, I'd suggest you to get yourself Vue (from e-onsoftware) because you can make trees with it and populate them. The result is good because you won't get the exact same tree (same branches etc.) since the software will automatically use random 'seed' and in that way, the scene will look more realistic.

its possible creating a realistic leves on folliage max 2010? without plug-ins?
anyone??
and how can place a tree in 3ds max render in photoshop? making the intersection whith the grownd floor??
