I am a webmaster who is just now downloading an evaluation (I guess) copy of Maya. I did not see how long the trial phase lasts. I also did not see how limited the trial version is.

I think one can do much more impresive things with Maya than you can do with Photoshop.

The artists at work say that they do not do Maya because as they say it, "it is an animation software". I suspect they are wrong.

We will see.

Anyway, this is my first post here. I think it will not be my last.

Welcome, The maya trials are usually 30 day trials. Maya is really the animation software of the 3d modelling tools, it is generally used for cinematics stuff. But yes you are correct you can do much mopre with maya than photoshop, but then again Im not sure you can really compare them in too many ways as one is 3d Modelling/animation the other is a 2d canvas painting,graphics application
