Fastest way to get characters in 3ds Max

Hi all,

I need to create characters for a 3D project. I'm quite used to Max, but creating these people from scratch would be too much work (15-20 different people, 3 with enhanced quality expressions, I was hoping to do these faces in 40 days or so).

I am looking for the best way to model faces accurately, import them in Max then rigging/texturing them in there. It is for series of stills, not animation.

I tried Poser without real success, since Poser Face Room looked to me more of a nice addition than a real tool, even working from face pictures.

Any suggestions/experience on the most efficient way to do it?

Thanks in advance

There are a few other 'human-modelling' program that you can try other than Poser. QUIDAM seems to be a good 'human-modelling' program, and if you just want a 'face', maybe you can try FaceGen Modeller. Of course, 'traditional' method will be more 'flexible' and you will get your desired face with that method since this kind of software have some limits on the parts that can be edited on the face.

Thanks :)

Thanks indeed

Tried both trial versions. Quidam 2, for all its "toy" look, is a pretty sleek and powerful tool.
FaceGen, on the other hand, has a powerful sculpt-by-picture feature...

While pricing is decent for both, I'm starting to think I will do the whole thing in Max, and have a couple rigging nightmares.
