Plastic Soup is the name commonly used to describe masses of trash floating in the ocean some of them are the size of Texas. wildlife are mistaking this trash for food and die of starvation with their bellies full of plastic. I am not here to spread bad news I want to fix this problem I am designing a refit for a cargo ship that will scoop up this thrash but I need your help I need 3d models to make illustrations of my ideas so they can be presented to Environmental and Government agencies to get grants and Donations so This ship can be built and start picking up our mess.

Wow, this is no laughing mater. I just saw everything. Damn, it looks worse than it really looks...

It is time I do something for the environment (since I done nothing wrong I might help fix it).

I study 2nd year in mechanics, so there's a classes for building structures (within are building boats, planes, etc...). I have chosen a different path in my scholarship but I can always ask my friends (constructor colleagues) to help me draw this ship.
I already have some ideas...

But first I need to ask some reasonable questions. Like:

• What can be found in that 10m thick patch of garbage?
• Do you need large or small ship model for this occasion?
• Ho big is the area of the garbage on the ocean?
• Does it really needs to be a ship to clean that, it could be a sub?!

And some other questions like:

• How long have you (or your organization) been doing this cleaning?
• And, did you made any difference?

PS: If you have some pictures or even blueprints of the ships that you have used so far, it will help me much to know that. Sorry for the long post. Please mail this things to my mail and try to explain those questions as circumstantially as you can. Janko.

My name is John Kuczwara
If you have been to my google group "Plastic Soup Clean Up" you will see that I am still an Organization of one.
I live in Columbus Ohio and joined the rakes of the unemployed in Nov of 2008
I have never been out of sight of the shore and that was in the Gulf of Mexico.
The first action I have taken to clean up the Plastic Soup was starting Google Group Plastic Soup Clean Up it has been only 3 days and if the response I have gotten sofar is any indication of progress then I WILL be sailing my sea cleaning ship with in 5 years.

Join my Google Group Plastic Ship Clean Up I have threads in other forums so I try keeping the more detailed information on this Project there so I can reference it in Threads and E-mail saving me from repeating myself, giving me more time to relay new information and I am sure a lot of the people wanting to help will be asking me the same questions. and I don't have all the answers so I needed a place where those that know the answers can help by providing the information I am missing.

Thank all of you for your support it is really helping me stay motivated this is a overwhelming problem and knowing that I don't have to do it all myself will make a deference

i have this crate you can use, although its high poly(30,000 polys lol) and untextured and about half unwrapped

Looks Great do the doors open for a few scenes I would need to open doors on both ends. I don't know how to animate so the poly counts are no big deal for me it is animating high poly that bogs down computers

yeah i could make it where the door opens but the poly limit will go up a little because i would have to add an interior for the crate, but yeah higher poly stuff will make render a lot longer, but if you want the model i could send you the obj file but if you don't want it that's cool, it gave me something else to put on my portfolio lol and i would texture it but i just don't have time right now

That would be great I do want the model when the doors can be opened I only have Daz Studio and hexagon 2 so a cr2 file would be handy for making the doors hinge at the right points I end up making each part a seperate Obj and parent them to nulls to make posable props because I don't know how to make cr2 files for the props that I have made

I have sent off a email to K Line requesting a blueprint for the ship pictured in the Post above I will let you know if they reply.
