Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Charachter animation question Hello, i was thinking of making a chatachter animation, but i woukld need someones help. I have downloaded a rigged and ready for animation charachter(only so i can test it) . And i dont want to use motion capture becuase it would be problematic. So the question is if i want to acctually animate him do i have to keyframe every single movement and do it manualy or is there any better way? Hope someone can help. THank you in advance . |

| Hallowed Devil | hey man....in animation keyframing, ye hv to animate the extreme parts, the middle parts get animatd demselves....fr example, if ye hv to animate a pendulum's movement, gv a keyframe to its extreme right, n gv a keyframe to its extreme left....ovcourse wid proper timing, as its very necessary fr animation.....den play it, it'll swing frm right to left on its own.....umm, btw, i hope ye knw the tangent or graph editors???? if not, chek out a few option buttons below the timeline, jus next to the "Set key" button, on the right side, is a button wid n icon ov a curve on it.....click on it n choose a straight line....all animations hv to b done wid a straight line tangent...den later, as the movement needs, goto graph editor, n gv all the keyframes on the tangent, Slow IN/OUT or Fast IN/OUT , or watevr.... THIS, M TALKIN WITH REFERENCE TO 3Ds MAX.....

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | First of all thank you for your reply and yes i do use 3ds max, but i don't know if you understud my question right i guese i formulated it badly :-( - Well i know the basicis of the animation and the pendulum's movement i know how to do, i know the tangent and graph editors. What i don't know is if in the charackter animation made with bones and IK solvers. So i am asking if i let's say want to make him walk do i have to animate (keyframe) every movement of the leg, hand , etc. ? |

| Hallowed Devil | aah, okk :P ...yes ye hv to animate everything.....each leg, both the hands, every body part that moves while a character walks... :) if ye're lookin fwd fr basic walkin movement, try Biped rather than bones....in a biped ye jus gotta gv number ov steps, n start playin....it'll walk on its own :) but if its fr a professional showreel, den bones r important too...
