After effects vs combustion

My Dears, my work consists of carrying through images of commercial spaces, store�, and the software that i work is the viz (3d studio max), a little of photoshop and illustrated, and recently I discovered combustion and after effects. My doubts about this software is: what the following one using ? in the images quickly to make rightnesss, modifications, only for fixed images what I carry through without thinking about using for video or another one. Somebody makes idea of which of them the two will be made right to use?

my understanding is that after effects is more for general motion graphics, while combustion is more for compositing.
