2D animation or 3D animation?

For my university project I am researching into traditional 2D animation and the techniques used, and how 2D animation has affected 3D animation and visa versa.

I would greatly appreciate it if the following questions could be answered

Which medium do you think is better, and why do you think this?

Is 2D animation becoming obsolete? Why is this?

Does the combination of 2D and 3D animation work?

Has 2D animation affected 3D animation over the years?

Has 3D animation become the more dominant medium? Why is this?

What are the advantages of 3D animation over 2D animation?
