| need some helps on my project I'm a new to 3D modeling. I have to create a model of Mantis as requirement for my student project. I found some difficulties. Anyone can advise me which object should I use to model that Mantis? I'm using 3D studio Max 9. I know some basic things of it. Thank you all in advanced. :victory: |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well, first get some decent reference images and as many photos as possible (different angles). Also if possible see one in real life to get a "feel" for it. Try and get at least two reference images (left side and front if possible) if you have more then even better. Start off were ever you find comfortable, then slowly work your way though, if you get stuck don't worry, make sure you save under different names (i.e. different versions) eg: start_v1 mesh_detail_v2 mesh_head_body_v3 etc.. you get the idea, this way if you make mistakes, just load up the previous version and carry on. Also, try and visualise the key parts of the insect and how you would approximate it, sometimes using standard primatives to start if off. Hope that helps. Anhar |
