Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Here a a question for all to think about. I am wondering if there is a way to import a 3d file drawn in vue d'esprit or photoshop or any other 3d program to a solid model to machine on a cnc mill? Maybe I am a dreamer but I think that would be cool. please let me know what you think |

If so, there are a lot of real life aspects that would have to be considered. Material, actual size, yada, yada, yada. You're looking for more of a CAD to CNC I think. ![]() |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | I guess if you wanna export from vue d'espirit you'll export terrain object with any texture map created in photoshop to most popular formats like DXF, 3DS, LWV, C4D, OBJ,... etc. from Photoshop you can export AI format and inport it in your solid software, and if its a picture you can import as a displacement map. is this what you are asking about?!! |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Yes it is possible to export from a 3D program to a CNC machine, actually it is posible to do that from 3DS Max, there is a plug in that generates 4 or 5 axis 3d contouring paths in max, check this out: :deal: http://www.rainnea.com/cnc_toolkit.htm But if you want to have a precise dimensional model, like disaac said, the best thing is to make it in a CAD software with the CAM feature because max won't give you the accuracy that a cad sofware does. ![]() |
