help in welding vertices

Hi people ,

I am using 3ds max 8, and i want to know , how to weld vertices that lie on the same point in the 3d space,

this is very easy in blender 3d :) , but its a nuisance in 3ds , because to weld vertices , you first have to select them first, :mad14:

what do i do when i have several hundred thousand vertices, in which 2 more of them lie on the same point?

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot,

Ishwar :super:

select two vertices and in your modify panel (on the right) look for the button that says Weld and that's it you are done.

Edit: If you know how to select vertices...

Box select, drag from two points to make a box/rectangle to select the target verts, then hit weld (sometimes, the threshold might be needed to be upped)

I use the vertex snap to snap the vertexes on top of eachother. Then i made a hotkey for my weld vertex (POLY) so when ever i press W the highlighted vertexes are then welded together.
