Hello all

My name is Cory S and I'm a graphic designer.* 10+ yrs in illustration's * I have gotten my self into 3d modeling, vehicles for motorsports. I'm reading lots of tutorials but some stuff still eludes me. Any advice is welcome ;) I'd like to post my work and get feed back as what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. *working on rims and wheels* . which look awesome until I render it.

thanks for any help.

wheel #4.
I have put together a wheel using the wheels i built in CorelDraw *Converted to AI*. I can see a little bit on how it could help me with shapes but how could it be used in car modeling?
Hope you enjoy this wheel :)

Thanks

Izmal, thanks :) I'm using 3DS Max 6, it's the first time using it and its now lots of fun :)
That last car was ok, i now know what I was doing wrong.
This new Funny Car is SO much better :)

Just a few questions now,
#1 From this point i'd like to add a paint scheme to the car's body, I have created it in CD9 *Illy7* is there a way to color the model the same way?

#2: I have figured out that the vector art i created in CD9 works VERY well in max when imported as an illy file. * wheels can be created and then extruded* How else this could this feature be used? I'm thinking about engine parts and small detail work.

Here's the funny Car.
Body : 2 Hrs
Chassie : 20 min
wheels: Created in CorelDRAW 9 and extruded in max 6

skinfather* Thanks, I'm getting there slowly. ;) in every design/posting there will be more detail then the last.

Here is my newest car, a 2002 Cavalier HNRA Pro stock. Day 4, I love it :)
An interesting occurrence while mirroring this car. Things wouldn't and I couldn't figure out why... I went back and opened groups and found that 1 or more vertices were selected on these objects that wouldn't mirror. I deselected them and everything mirrored correctly :)

Question. Any leads on how I would make the parashoot bags a soft fabric like? it's supposed to be woven nylon same as the parashoot cables.

Thanks for any help :)

Hello again

Day 5 of the car, only had 1/2 a day to spend on this.
Rendering times are about 15-20 mins

I'm starting to get the hang of this :)

So i;m messing around with small stuff on the car and I notice that parts of the car have moved.... I have no idea how. I cought most of the new flaws but not pleased with myself on this error.

I'm working through this tutorial *http://67.15.36.49/team/tutorials/ni...issantex2.asp*
has anyone been through it? I'm getting confused. Do i have the whold car selected when applying UnwrapUVW? or do i do it buy sections of the car?
Where is the edit button? How many things should the modifer stack contain?

Thanks for any help

On the rear shot you can see the bottem section has moved inwards.
