Rep Power: 0 ![]() | In-game car model question Hey guys, If I was to model a car for a game so relatively low poly, and the car is destructable (eg. glass shattering) is it better to model the windows/windscreen as a seperate model or some other way? Because I want the glass to shatter and break. Thanks heaps for your time! |

| Registered User | hi fom ur question, it actually depends on how low poly are we talkin about? 5000 poly? 10000 poly or etc? coz as a 3d artist for games studio, I work on 22500 poly for a car. yes, we model the windows and glasses as seperate items. I do paint the damages in the textures, but I dont model the shatters, that is done by the game engine. but if u plan to model the car and make it damagable without any game engine, then u might need to also model the shatters as seperate items. hope that helps :) cheers! |
