Engraving

I would like to put a 'engrave' logo into a stone panel and I was wondering if there was a simple way of doing it?
I have looked for tutorials on this, but I can't find any.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

if you want an animation, go here:

if you want a still pic, i suggest you use booleans

Try using a spline text, then shapemerging it into the plate and extruding it out.

I suggest extruding some text then placing it onto the stone object so that it cuts into the stone to the depth you want then creating a boolean subtraction (this can be memory intensive on detailed models so try it on something simple first.)
