Rep Power: 0 ![]() | an other new member's first upload :D sup ppl. I've been getting to know 3d Studio once again(directed towards broadcast graphics) I've been going to school for a VFX bfa and all we've been doing is logos and as nice as it is, we really haven;t gone in depth with serious modelling(I'll get to that in a sec) Anywho, one project I've been working on is a station image id. from there, it ended up in after fx http://bellsouthpwp.net/f/r/fredz21/max-mpeg.avi the render elements option in 3d studio is pretty nice, and makes render time viable(if you have access to various computers) anywho, outside from school projects, I've been wanting to model a boat for the longest time. and i don;t know how. I've gone through car modeling tutorials, and as impressive as many are, they still don;t quite tackle some things I'm stuck on. this is pretty much where I'h heading at. Texturing is an other issue I'll have to deal with eventually. I know something about assigning id's to surfaces and such, we just don;t cover any od that in any of our clases(which sucks imo) anywho, comments are more than welcome :) fredz |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Hi there, since you use 3DS Max 6(seen on your first pic), you can go through the in-built tutorials. Very helpful, and explaining all types of modelling, new stuff, texturring, lights.... I am a newbie modeller, I only did mapping, but after all of those tutes interesting to me, I get around much better now. And if U need a particular tute about a boat, then maybe try a search, but as I said, it's the technique, not the task (cars, tanks, boats, ships, etc..) Also, if U can afford, get a copy of 3DSMax 6 Bible, I don't have it, but earlier version(5) is great. Hope it helps. :) |
