New member's first upload

Hi there all, I am new to 3DM community.
Been using 3DSMax for about four years along my architecture studies, but solely for texturing and finishing up models imported from ACAD.

The model you see is, so to speak, the first one completely made in Max, and it's just a chess tute that went wild. It's not yet finished, I plan to add some more complexity, just wanted your advices about texturing, lighting and stuff.
Three triangularly placed omni's with, maybe too much, attenuation light the scene.

Sorry if the file is too big...
Would appreciate any C&C, and will keep the post updated as the work goes along
Thanks

Nice looking scene!! Everything looks good. 3 lights should be fine...but you are going to have to play around with the lighting, and see what works out for you.

Thanks man, I appreciate it..

I am just working on it now, and adding some more objects, few more magazines on a stack, maybe some worn out glasses, and few more details.
I think I'll come up with a new render in about 24hrs.

Thanks again for the comment.

Hi guys,
I added few more hours on this one today, but haven't made any actual progress.
Since I don't know much about real modelling techniques, I made a scene so heavy, that I could barely pan or orbit the views...:(
Also, I used all 24 mat slots, and was too late for channel assignment and multi-sub texturing

Anyway, the work on this is finished for now, and I plan to do some other as soon as I get my inspiration. Maybe some single objects, just for practice. (don't mind me, I am speaking to myself)

Also I promise to post my new work from it's early stage, for C&C, not like this one.

Cheers
