| Forum Moderator | The Italian Entrance (exterior scene) New scene I'm finally working on..wow, it's been over a year and a half since my last scene. I haven't been in the CG-world lately, no inspiration or anything if you know what I mean, that, and I've been extremely busy lately. Well anyway, here's the scene, still a WIP. Tell me what you think (3dsmax + VRay): ![]() I look forward to your comments ![]()

| Member | Not bad, but some edges of the models seems to be too sharp. Other than that, the door handle seems to be too 'new' for an old building too. I think if you add some 'rubbish' (for example, dropped leaves, algae etc.) will look better for an old building. Thanks and hope to see the update soon. |

| Forum Moderator | Thanks for the post ;) I will fix the arch..but what would be the best way to make it look realistic? Should I manually go into edit poly mode and chamfer the edges, or should I just add a meshsmooth modifyer with a low effect rate? And yeah, sorry I've been taking so long lol..I can't seem to get things done worth a damn lately haha.

| Member | Hmm...I think it depends on your wire/mesh. Normally I will use charmfer (or never use at all since usually I will apply a little bit of displacement on my walls to reduce the number of polygons in the scene while having a 'more realistic' look). Take your time.....If you remember, my WIP Windmill in 3dk has no new progress since the last post :p Thanks. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I think it looks great! the only thing that catches my eye is the bicycle... it looks as if it is being help up by something... i think the tire would be at angle if it was leaning against something... |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hey XeroMedia Nice render, it has a painterly feel to it! The leaves were a nice touch, although I would opt for a less uniform spread of them maybe make the larger concentration to the Screen-right hinting the tree is off in that direction seen as you have some greenery on your image there. Also the door seems not to have as much detail as the rest of the objects do in it texture. But good render and nice warm lighting to! |
