Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Hm... the difference between the kind of convertion options is just something you should find out yourself. I can tell you something about it... Editable mesh is most common for most models and has some advantages compared to the others. It has (at least that's what I think about it) an easier way to pick certain vertices. Editable poly is my favourite. When you need to extrude and bevel areas at the same time, you could definetly use this one. This modifier is my favourite because of the many options you've got. For instance the special welding options, the option of closing a hole with the cap option. These are just some of the posibilities you have with this modifier. The edit mesh function works somehow the same as the editable mesh, but it is not recommended. The edit mesh is handy for just minor changes in an already finished model. Once again, you must find out yourself what works for you. I don't know how long you are working with 3dsmax but not knowing the diferences between modifiers is definetly no shame. I don't know everything either. I think none of the NON-PRO's in 3dsmax know everything. While working with 3dsmax learning can't be deleted from the dictionary :) :) I hope you know a little more about it now, and once again, I hope that it helps you improve your Model... Greetz |

| bug moderator | MAn..and i work almost with edit mesh only...and I have nothing to complain about.What I want to say is that you have to try all the options and choose the one who fits better for you and start learning it good. It is like asking wich software is better Maya, Lightwave or 3DstudioMax (yes there are other programs like Softimage or Cinema4d, their users shouldn't think that I forgot them).It's how you use the software not what soft you use! If your doing animation, then the differences are bigger and you must choose more carefully, but eitherway you should get the same result
