Thumbs up Egyptian Tomb

Hey guys,

I'm finally working on a new scene in 3dsmax. I just started working on it today. It is an Egyptian Tomb, or at least it will be soon. Most of the textures are from Total Textures v9 and some dirt maps from Total Textures v3. This is the first test render. It was rendered in finalRender. I haven't started on the lighting yet. I am focusing more on the modeling and texturing right now. All comments and critiques are appreciated. Thanks!

Here is the same render with some post-production work done in Photoshop. Which image looks more realistic? (I am just curious to know your opinions.) Comments please:

Howdy Necksmasher,

Looking good so far, I would have to say that the top pic looks more realistic to me, but both are really cool. :)

Haha thanks for the comment Millies! It's been a long time since we talked here at 3DM lol. Anyways, I think I did way too much work on the 2nd image when it comes to the colorization. I will start on the lighting soon also. Any more comments?

The lowest one looks the best! that one gives an image of a tomb the best. The top one looks just too smooth, although it has materials you can see its 3d very easy while the lowest one looks quite realistic. With that last sentence i didnt mean its bad if you saw it like that, i really love how you did it and it looks great! The lowest image gives a good shot about how postwork will improve things sometimes :) well done

hi
I agree with Millies that the 1. pic is better.
Like you said you did to much in PS ... mix them together and you could get a nice variation.

I think that picture number 2 looks better than number 1.
