'Bank Affairs' Short Film

click the image below to goto the site.

Hi there guys and girls, Bank Affairs is a short film being produced by myself and a few of my friends, along with the additional help of a few more people who are willing to help out in certain areas.
The story was originally the idea of Graham Reeves (my brother), and has been developed further by the group. We started about May 2007 and until when? we’re not sure ..

Between us we produced 7 short films while at the University of Hertfordshire where we graduated summer 2006 (you can see a selection of them in our previous work page here).
Currently we all work in post-production studios London - and despite the often demanding jobs we plan to develop our own short film in our spare time when possible.

Our website/blog is here:

www.bankaffairsfilm.com

And hopefully we'll keep this thread updated when we have some things to show too :).

So far, we have over 1:30min of previs done in a lovely basic 3d way, a couple of the environments have began being modelled and textured and the development of character modells have been started.

So here is an office environment I managed to work on a bit this last weekend:

cheers

Here’s an update on the office environment, every little helps eh!
The ceiling lights are kinda working, still lots of things haven’t been textured properly and there’s a long list of bits and bobs to make, but we are getting somewhere with it :)
Rendering a wee 360 spin animation of it in its current state at the moment so will post that up when its good to go.

Thanks for your support Izmal :)

Here's a new render, a 360 camera view around the office in its current state, as before still plenty to model and texture etc. But I thought I'd render this out as my pc is quiet while I'm at work.
The quality isn't the best, but it'll do for now :)

Click here to watch the animation

cheers!

I have written a wee article thing briefly about the pipeline, or generally about the production process we are using on our film.

click here or on the image below to read it

I hope it makes sense and is of some interest, let me know if you have any questions or whatnot :)
Cheers!

Here is an update on the office environment. Worked on general bits as usual but also getting into detail on one of the most important areas, our hero’s cubical.
We know this is going to be seen in detail, where as most of the other cubical depend on what cameras we use, so to not waste time they can be padded out when all the pre-vis shots of in this environment is done.

I have a nice batch of spare days at the moment so I’m trying to work on the film as much as possible. Its always a good feeling to have quite a lot of enthusiasm to do 3d. :)

As a bit of a break from the office, I’ve started early work on a new environment, a (road) junction. This is also needed to be made so as a basic form it can be used in the previs.
Its in a bit of a built up area, traffic lights, some shops like a small high street. Heres how its going so far!

This environment is only going to be used in one sequence, and so only at one period of day. And the nature of that time of day (evening/dusk) means it may be a little dark.
As the previs is blocked out for this sequence, we know what cameras/angles are going to be used, what will be seen. So in addition to that, what is actually going to be visible is another factor - so I decided to start a rough lighting of the scene and to continue to work from that.
So here is!

Cheers!

A couple of images for updates here the bottom one being the latest. As you can tell changing the lighting sometimes, just have a test here and there for roughly what it could be like.

Cheers!

I've managed to finish off the couple of angles that had big holes in them in terms of buildings. So I've turned onto a bit of texturing now, looking forward to so much UVing :)

This one is in the comp instead of just photoshop, but its pretty similar, and I worked on the background a little too.
