Animation project + Max5 CPU optimalisation

Hey,

I'm working on an animation video, about 3 minutes, see screenshot. It is not finished(more rubbish etc.. the street poles(??) other material.. etc.)

But recently I bought a new computer and now when I start max5 the CPU is around 100% of its use! It's an AMD Atlon xp, 3000+ 512 kb. Now I realise max is better on Pentium, but h© that's no option anymore.

Could it also be possible that I need to subdivide my harddiscs to more discs, as I have two 120 Gb discs. But the problem still remains with the :terror: CPU.

So if someone has the same hardware, please send the windows settings

If there's no other option I perhaps should leave max 5 and go back to Max 3, in which I did this work anyway, because a lot of files won't open in Max 5 aswell.. It's kind of strange, and very annoying.

So, different questions:
1- how do I set the settings in max5? (I have a radion 9600 graphic card)
2- what do you think? It's about mood mostly. etc
Should I keep you posted on this?
The main caracter is the outline on the ground, I do have some questions about correctly animating it.. but I have managed so far, and I will figure it out.. just like a game.

Anyway, all help is welcome, and perhaps to much text, so here's the pic.

Regards
Klaas

Thank you, moving along nicely, imo

I'm looking around to solving my hardware problems.. perhaps it's something in the goodold Windows but as far as I can read here and there Max should run easy with my configuration.. almost typical anyway.
Then I can finally continue doing this.. because well.. hehe

If you have an antivirus installed try shutting it off.
