to be honest..me neither. ..but you'll be surprised cause OFP have their own fan based & fanatic. Even a few of my friends really anticipated for this sequel.

its more like a simulation war game, with real military tactical stuff..the first OFP was release around 2002 (if im not mistaken) from Bohemia Interactive and Codemasters is their distributor..make it short,CM got the copyright and decide to develop it on their own. With the EGO engine(which uve seen in GRiD), OFP2 will be awesome!..with cool multiplayer mode,220km open ended environment space to explore, motion captured animation, great AI, attention to detailed model, damage & physic..etc. what more can ask?..

summary on OFP2:

American forces are stationed to protect americans working on Skira (oil and gas companies). Without a warning the chinese army invades the island and forces the US Army to retreat. Russia is requesting american support and the USA sends the USS Iwo Jima to the conflict region. The first part of the campaign will be settled during the chinese invasion, whereas you will be part of the American intervention force in the second part.

Facts :
- 220 km² island called Skira (based on a real island)
- 30 Air and ground Vehicles (Ah-1Z, M1A1, M2A3)
- 70 weapons (FGM-148, M 107, Mk 16 Mod 0, Mk 48 Mod 0)
- Dynamic Building Destruction (Buildings do have several desctruction phases)
- destructible trees
- dynamic weather effects
- mud effects (comparison --> Race Driver Grid).
- weapons won't stay shiny all the time... they will get scratches and get dirty while beeing used
- no dynamic campaign
- easy command system with commander overview
- AI uses real military tactics
- Some weapons have to be assembled before it can be used (f.e. the Javelin)
- Gore Limb Dismemberment will be included

Here's a new developer diary-style clip from Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising developer Codemasters, proving that their EGO game engine can handle more than racing games.

Until now, Codemasters has limited their utilization of the EGO game engine to their racing titles, such as the stunning Colin McRae: DiRT and Race Driver: GRID games. Now they're using it to build the sequel to the original Operation Flashpoint, and from what I've seen in this video it's performing quite admirably. Certainly looks better than the placeholder demonstration footage they had on hand at the last E3, and even that was impressive. If they can release a game that looks like that yet still runs smoothly on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 I might have to reassess my opinion of Codemasters as being crap for anything but racing.

Oh, and the video is a bit out of sync with the audio, so you might want to start listening earlier.
