Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Ghost City: The Screamer - by Adrian Carrera Hi everyone , I'm the new guy around here .I've decided to enter this 3D Character Challenge (my first challenge here), is a great theme and idea, perfect to expand our creativity. I'll post in a few days my progress... Good look to all! ![]() Cheers .Cayeya. -------------------------------- Edit: ( 20 - Nov - 07 ) Well, here is a picture of my character progress, just a close up of the face. I'm using 'silo 2' to model, starting the torso from a cilinder. I will upload the sketch image later, just to keep the suspense for a little while , As well the 'Bio-aspects' (I think I've just invented a new word ) for the creature, explaining why this creature is called 'The Screamer'.The progress images are in my next posts, I hope U like it!. -------------------------------- Edit: ( 27 - Nov - 07 ) Now I added the sketch image here, and the rest of the modeling process. Now the model is finished with out textures. The rest of the images showing this process are on my next posts. I also added the 'Bio-Aspects' of the creature, now some secrets are uncovered .-------------------------------- Edit: ( 10 - Dic - 07 ) I've attached the last thumbnail and the link for the Final HD Image in my last post, Also this link is here, just click on the image or in the text link. Enjoy! ![]() [IMG=http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/2013/texturingfinalhdyp8.th.jpg] Enjoy! Last edited by cayeya; 12-13-2007 at 04:31 PM. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Subdivmaniac .Thanks for your words! And yes, what U see on its back is the skeleton, but it's not exposed and it's not a normal skeleton, it is beneath a thin layer of skin, that's why it looks with different details of an exposed bone skeleton on its back, and 'cause it is a mutant, its back has mutated on someting more stronger structure with more bones, the reason for this mutation is because the back needs to hold another structure of the creature, that will be revealed in my next images in a couple of days (I like the suspense )Thanks everyone for taking the time to see this thread! ![]() ![]() |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi everyone .Here are some new images of my creature. In the first one of this new 3 images I modeled the 4 extremities on its back, which will serve as the locomotion system (only for escape or just for searching new lair). With this the creature will always be looking at the prey/menace with the wall or ceiling on its back, keeping always covered its back flank. In the second one I added some detail on the chest of the creature, showing the ribs under the skin. With this I get a more creepy aspect of this character, but more than that, it is the result of a hostile environment where food is hard to find due the radiation in this new wasteland. In the last one, I added few thin hair. Due to the massive exposure to radiation, the hair started to fall down, and what U see is all what left of it. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Now I started to model the back appendix that will holds this creature for its back for the 'stalk/hunting mode'. This appendix grips the ceiling, and the creature is hanging from it with some melted skin on its back that let the creature go up and down. This appendix holds 12 tentacles that are used for attack/defence, catch and kill the prey, also this appendix has on it center the negative shape of the exposed (under thin skin) spinal bones of the creature 'cause the creature's back can fit up in this shape when the creature is eating. This shapes and all the appendix are generated when the creature finds a new lair, and from its back added to the ceiling this appendix start to grow up, creating again the melted skin, the tentacles and the spinal holder. Ones this process is done, the 4 extremities on its back change from locomotion to hold and rotate the prey. Here are 3 more images of this modeling process: |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Now the model is completed on it modeling stage, here are 3 more images showing all the aspects of it form. The first image shows the appendix left off for the creature, it was detach at the melted skin of the back for some extreme circumstances that can put its life in danger, with this method the appendix change it functionality, going from a stalk/hunting weapon to a distraction device that let the creature get away from the menace with out be followed. The second shows the creature on its 'escape mode', moving away from the danger using the 4 extremities on its back just to find another place to turn it into its new lair and start to grow a new appendix again. The third image shows the creature on 'stalk mode', attached to the appendix and waiting on the ceiling of a structure to catch, kill and eat a prey. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | And now this image shows the creature waiting to catch a prey on it 'stalk mode', and if U were there this will probably be the last thing that U will see. I hope this creature will like U all, any comments about it will be fully appreciated. Now I will start the texturing process. PS: Now the 'sketch image' is on my first post of this thread. Now, after a long waiting, the suspense is revealed ![]() ![]() . |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Creature's Bio-Aspects: [ Top Secret ] - Classified File - Only for Your Eyes - Report #28112007-AC (Creature's Bio-aspects) ---------------------------------- As the only rescue team survivor, I have to say that this was the most terrifying and nightmare hunting thing from hell that I ever saw. The 65% of my team was killed for this creature alone before we can get rid of it and escape under our heavy fire of bullets and flamethrowers. But basing of what I saw and the samples of tissue collected in that moment, this report concludes the next analysis of the creature that I called 'The Screamer': This creature is the result of a strong mutation of a human been. This mutation made on this body a lot of changes and modifications on a cellular level, this caused the loss of the 2 legs that fell down because they become useless and there were no need of them any more for the appearing of the new 4 extremities on its back that fits with the new creature's needs. Due to the high levels of radiation, the hair is minimum and the skin become more melted on its back, with some texture and color of a rotten, burned and bruised skin. Because of the lack of some strong body of the original human been, mutation has taking this creature to become a stealth/stalk mutant (but with out any weakness at all as a complete mutated creature). For that, and for the effect that radiation makes on the skin (some kind of melted skin), this creature has mutated/evolved to become this characteristic in to an advantage, making the back part of the creature (that always is facing the walls) a point for growing an appendix that will helps in some ways. That's way its back has a thin layer of skin, from here all the appendix is generated, adding new possibilities to this experimental form of mutation. From This appendix there are 12 very strong tentacles that are useful for attack/defence, hunting, fight and killing any prey that goes under it, move things or make some noise to attract some potential preys. In the middle of this appendix there is a shape that's a negative shape of the spinal back of the creature 'cause it is here where the creature docks when it is eating. And is from here that all the parts of the appendix grows. But the entire appendix has an extra functionality that is to serve as a distraction device for some others life forms that can put its life in danger (there are a few). With this, the creature can detach the appendix at its own will (like a little lizard) letting the tentacles with some convulsive moves that can kill or distract the menace for a while and letting the creature escape at high speed using its 4 extremities on its back, covering always it back flank. The creature now can find another place to start over a new lair from its back with thin skin. The creature has the name of 'The Screamer' because this mutant makes some noises like a crying baby or some trapped animal crying in pain, with this method some creatures are attracted for the supposed belief of an easy meal. ---------------------------------- End of this report section. |
