Dr. House

Hi Everyone!

I'm learning to draw. This is my first try. (I have saw some very talented artist to paint from a picture, so I have decided to try it, too.)

Before I started, I practice some "see, trace and draw". To sketch the original image, i used some grid to "slice" the picture into smaller parts.
Smaller parts are easier to trace.
After that the rough shading was relativly fast - for me. (2-3 hours)
Then the colors... I skipped some weeks. A suggestion: don't be afraid from something (like I was from the colorising), just do it!

Then yesterday, I have started to colorize the picture. Not so good, but promising for the first try. :)

Thanks Minimus, for the suggestion! You are right.
Better eyes (i hope), shadows on the hands, and some details.
And "work in progress"-beard...

EDIT: ...and (maybe) the finished beard.

Nope. Maybe the final image. I know, i know that the pores of the skin is not so good, but next time i will not use any "addnoise-blur" effect to achieve the result.
For bigger ones click here or here (Pixila).

that's true I.F., a good choice of ready-made references can be found at Human Anatomy For Artist

To your image - I like very much the hair, it's pretty realistic. I wouldn't be concerned that much with the pores on the skin - to me it seems quite fine. I am not sure if it's just my imagination but the eye seem to be a bit de-synchronized - as if each were looking in a slightly different directions.

These are some details. As a whole I would say that your work is a great attempt at portraying! Keep the effort!

Thanks Ekim_dl! You are right, the eyes need to be fixed a bit.

EDIT: fixed eyes, i hope.
Does anyone know how can i replace an image in the portfolio?
