Hi All,

Below is a new matte painting I've been working on. It is not totally done yet, I haven't meshed everything together yet, in fact I think it has a long way to go still. But I was hoping to get some feedback on the composition. Do you like the layout? What can be improved? Suggestions on lighting? etc. Come to think of it I may add in a tire swing hanging from the tree.

how did you remove the tree's background ?
because i got those problems too when im mattepainting

For this tree, luckily the background was very close to the new background. But to make the tree mesh even more, I took the high resolution tree picture I had, used the Magic Wand tool in Photoshop and removed some of the more prominent sky elements from the leaves. Once I did that I brought the tree into my composition and shrunk it down to the size I wanted. By bringing in the tree and shrinking it down it made the sky areas that I deleted with the Magic Wand tool less noticeable and mesh better with the scene. Seems to work.
