Video editing for better animation experience?

Hi!
I just want to know if any of you know if any of the autodesk products can edit video or if there is any low priced or free softwares?
I mean like for example change the colours for a more realistic or toonish tone. It doesn't have to have a lot of functions, just a few tool for 3d animation.

VFS is using their own products so far I know, and I cant afford adobe after effects (student), so if you have any software you use or just recomment, please leave a comment.

I have been working as video editor for 2 years now for an Advertising company. I did some part project which I got from my friends. I have used Pinacle Studio for video editing. Most of professionals are using this application for video editing. It’s not too much expensive.
