Rep Power: 0  | The Lost World // Mário Rodrigues Hello everyone, my name is Mário Rodrigues im 22 and im from Portugal, this will be my very first challenge and im thrilled to be part of it. Hope to see some great work from you guys and learn something every day, i really need to work hard in this painting stuff because im no pro etc..but..hey im here to have fun and learn...have fun you guys and see ya later :P About the challenge it self, im having a lot of ideas and ill post them in my next thread with some speed painting images. Rep Power: 0 | Hello everyone im back and with a simple speed painting done in 15 minutes...im new to this stuff..about speed painting etc...soo i know the painting suck but...i hope in the end of this challenge to get better lol :) So here it is...this is me testing an enviroment i have something like 3 or 4 well tought ideas and some raw ideas that may contribute to the final look of my final image. This one was made so that i could simulate an interesting hour. I love mountains, so probably my final image will have some kind of moutains etc...just for the record what im going to try to accomplish its a photorealist matte painting look and feel not a concept design type of look, those will exist only in speed painting trials. I will not use any type of photography in my work i will paint everything in photoshop just to see how much i can improve along the challenge. :yaya: In the future i will try to make in a week or two a painting per day, i cant guarantee nothing because my daily work probably will get me tired n'stuff but...i'll try, starting tomorow... Rep Power: 0 | Introduction // Hello everyone, long time no see. I’ve been quite busy at work and not sleeping too often unfortunatly so i haven’t draw nothing since last post. But i have organized my ideas and i will tell you what my work will be all about. My Lost World // So tell me what will your do after all?...you ask or maybe not but i think its nice for me to imagine it so. J My project will be about a lost world. Figuratively and Interpretatively and what do i mean by using this big words?! Well not only i will draw a pure image of destruction but i will also include in it my interpretation of a lost world. In many of my past works i’ve been using erotism, religion and philosophy quite often and this work wont be an exeption. My vision for this work is to portrait a biblical type of image like sodoma and gomorra something like a destroyed city, people running for their lives but i wont use any old or ancient archytecture...i will include in it my vision of evil.. I believe we live in a lost world everyday it depends only where do you live and the people around you, for many of us with our little perfect jobs, wifes and girlfriends with our friends by our side our world may not be a perfect one but...imagine those that live in warlike times in their countries or dont even have food to live their daily lives like we so normaly do. Freedom of speech, woman rights, molested children, oil wars etc...this is what i think when i read and think of LOST WORLD. :terror: So as you may already understood you wont see any ancient aztec, egyptian or alien buildings in my work, not that i dont think their fantastic, because i do love them and i support everyone that its working in such concept of a Lost World. Image Concept // My image will have a strong religious concept, i dont like the catholic doctrine and the lies and hypocrisy that exist in their dogma since its creation. In my personal opinion i believe a lost world would be a world dominated by the church and the tabus, obligations and rules they implement. I think of pope Raztinger as Emperor Palpatine, i dont know why but i just see him like that, here its a little description of this character for those that are unfamiliar with him. Palpatine is the foremost villain in Star Wars fiction middle-aged politician in the Galactic Republic who rises to power through deception and treachery he is also Darth Sidious, a powerful Sith Lord who practices the dark side of the Force. :devil: And for that matter i will draw a bishop like figure invoking all the destruction you will see in my image or at least its happiness. You may think of death you may think of your friends and family, and i hope you can relate your hometown to this image, even if it is 100% different its still the present time i will illustrate not the past not the unknown not the imaginary civilization we all wished to explore. But dont think my only or main target its the church or something like that, my main target is the human cowardly nature, that make us all see and live by standards we dont agree and yet we dont fight for a better day a better future or a better tomorow. Conclusion // A lot of work ahead of me, but i really hope to illustrate my vision my concept the way i think of it, because i believe in my idea of a Lost World and my friends we all live in it!.... Expect some concept images soon. |
