Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The Lost World: Parody I have been using 3ds Max for the last 2 years and this will be my second competition. My scene will probably take completely different directions at least three times as I work quickly and can never really decide if I like the way my piece is going. I found out about this competition about four days ago and since then I have had no access to broadband so I started modelling without posting updates. So my first post (this one) will contain the updates which I hope will show the path of my work so far. I have within the last hour changed the idea almost completely, but I have kept the original shape, however this has yet to be rendered and I will hopefully post it tomorrow. I hope you like my work. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Updates I have changed the idea of my scene almost completely and have now gone for a snow look, but kept the mayan pyramid and the land levels, they have been scaled down to make it flatter, but the shape remains. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | maybe you can make the mayan temple have bright colors to have a good contrast between it and the snow. you might also want to put it in the middle of the scene to make it the focus, keep it coming want to see this finished. good luck. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Damn I forgot about this competition. Well as you can see the final render is terrible. I know there's no point in finishing this entry, but I can at least tell you why I forgot! About 8 days before the end of the competition I had a look and was thinking about continuing it. But I got off track and ended up installing linux on my laptop after backing everything up. It went to pot and ended up making it unbootable. So then I installed a corporate edition of windows XP I had lying around. Then I decided it was pointless as I couldn't access the internet due to lack of LAN connectivity. So I was stuck for about 3 days with a version of XP which didn't do anything. Then Vista launched! I got it and installed it during the day while I was out (started hurriedly installing it in the morning). When I returned I was amazed. I was always thinking about how stupid the adverts were with phrases like 'turn on the WOW' and other crap. I was thinking it would just be the same as XP. Anyway long story very very short, it's amazingly cool, although people are right about it just being a service pack for XP; it just looks good. Back to my excuse. I have been busy installing all these cool programs, regretably I forgot about 3DS and returning just now to see the competition closed I am very dissapointed. Well done to everyone else, although I have seen a few other unfinished entries. It feels really bad knowing you wasted all that time doesn't it? Ciao till the next competition! |
