Talking "The Lost World" Mountain City

Just a heads up to all other users, I am young and very new to 3D modeling and have no experience with texturing but i doing this as a learning curve so just be patient with my work :yaya:

Now i have alot of drawings but they will be posted once my scanner is fixed...

Now back to my project, i felt the need to do my city in the mountains, alot of freedom and very few restrictions, i also collaborated a few ideas such as:
My "lost city" will be a merchant city made by different time periods of civilizations along a huge time period, so there will be lots of different architecture but my main theme is to have lots of sails (from large ships) to be used as canopies and have a unique feel to it...

oh and please give me your opinion, i am very open to constructive criticism.

like i said i'm a newb so chances are the pic didn't work lol

haha yes I am 20 but, I was merely trying to state that I have little experience with working with 3D studio max, but thats besides the point...

Heres another sample of my progression... although I am OPEN to suggestions so please reply with a few cause like I said, i'm new to this stuff,

too bad you didn't finish on time...i really liked design of buildings..you could have easily instanced them few times with slight variations and you'd certanly get cool results. try to finish it for your sake, beside competition, it really has potential..
