Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The Lost World: McKormick Greetings to all competitors I decided to participate in this competition (my first time in fact), I believe this way I can learn a lot of building a scene at all its stages. it will also let me verify my modeling skills. I'm new to 3d and this will be my first serious project. My idea of lost world is to create civilisation inhabiting a cave. The shape of cave will remind a deep bottomless well. the city will be build along the cave walls and many flats to the bottom. I don't have the final concept of inhabitants race but for ure it will be a tribe a miners living in medieval times (no advanced tech. no electricity, no engines). As miners they are pretty skilled in stone and metal working as well as constructing. my fist plan was to build a huge tower in the middle of hole and many bridge connecting opposite sides of city rings as on attached sketch. but now I see that tower covers to much space and I resing from building it, nevertheless I'll build few bridges across the hole. I'm not sure of camera angle so I will see how the final model will look and than position it properly but the idea is to show the upper levels of the city as well as deep hole. Forgive me posting a bad sketch but i didn't have time to work on it, instead i began modeling structures, will post it later. critiques are most welcome Best of luck for all competitors |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi everyone Small update since my last post. I played a bit with lights, placed some firing candle holders and put distant greenish light - I consider this one as main light source to lit whole cave. The idea is to place great selfiluminated crystal which was found during cave exploration many years before. It is some kind of national treasure holded in hands by huge goddess statue. The statue will be located opposite to cave entrance as a main city object. Some WIP of the statue I hope to post soon |
